We are seeking a skilled Category Manager to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. As a key player in the retail industry, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth across your category, crafting and executing strategies that deliver customer-centric, sustainable growth while surpassing sales and profit targets.
The RoleYou will be responsible for shaping the future of our category and leading it to success. From crafting category strategies to driving growth, you will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and key stakeholders to ensure we are always ahead of the curve.
Key Responsibilities:- Craft and Execute: Develop and deliver compelling category plans that address evolving customer needs and ensure we stay ahead of market trends.
- Collaborate and Negotiate: Build and nurture long-lasting supplier partnerships, negotiating mutually beneficial agreements that drive value for both our customers and the business.
- Inspire and Lead: Lead your team with passion and energy, empowering them to create high-performing, customer-first solutions that resonate across all areas of the business.
- Strategic Visionary: Identify opportunities for growth and innovation, leveraging customer insights and market trends to optimize product offerings and increase market share.
- Proven Expertise: A strong track record in retail buying or category management, with demonstrated success in developing and managing high-performing categories.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: The ability to translate customer insights into strategies that drive business growth and enhance the customer experience across all touchpoints.
- Strategic Vision & Innovation: Forward-thinking and proactive in spotting market trends, anticipating customer preferences, and driving innovation to stay ahead of the competition.
- Strong Negotiation & Influencing Skills: Ability to build and maintain impactful relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers.
- Financial Acumen: Understanding of how to manage budgets, optimize product offerings, and track sales performance to deliver profitability while keeping the customer at the centre.
- Leadership & Team Empowerment: Natural leader who inspires, mentors, and develops high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
