Role Overview

You will be responsible for leading complex planning initiatives to strengthen disaster resilience across NSW, with a focus on the Northern Rivers.

This high-impact role requires experience in project management within complex environments, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills to navigate ambiguity.

You will have the ability to think strategically, collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders, and be comfortable with uncertainty. Your expertise in managing stakeholders within politically sensitive contexts with competing priorities and constrained resources will be essential for success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate the effects of disasters and ensure timely recovery.
  • Manage project delivery, including scheduling, resource allocation, and governance, while promoting compliance with relevant policies.
  • Develop targeted engagement approaches in partnership with regional teams and communications specialists.
  • Work closely with technical experts, councils, and agencies to embed data-driven insights and hazard analysis into planning processes.
  • Monitor and mitigate project risks and reputational concerns, providing timely guidance and strategic advice to leadership.
