Role Summary

We seek a skilled professional to contribute to the development of our Regional Risk Based Planning Approach (RRBPA) for the Hawkesbury Nepean Valley.

The successful candidate will assist in crafting a comprehensive flood risk reduction strategy that aligns with our objectives and supports disaster adaptation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing the RRBPA through research and information dissemination;
  • Providing expert advice and recommendations on various documents and proposals related to flooding and land use planning;
  • Ensuring development and planning proposals align with disaster mitigation and management goals;

About You

To be considered, you must have:

  • Proven experience in land use planning, preferably with a focus on disaster risk adaptation, mitigation, and recovery;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively;
  • A meticulous approach to reviewing documents and proposals to ensure compliance with disaster management objectives;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and contribute to a team-oriented environment;

Candidates must demonstrate understanding of New South Wales government processes and policy making, experience in interpreting and implementing statutory planning legislation and policy, and other essential criteria.
