Job Title: Junior Sous Chef

Accor is a leading hotel group seeking a motivated and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour. This is an exceptional opportunity to advance your career in a dynamic and innovative kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef with menu preparation, ensuring adequate supplies for service.
  • Maintain high presentation standards and cost control for all food and beverage outlets.
  • Implement and maintain programs for cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and related outlets.
  • Lead the team by setting a positive example and delegate duties in the absence of senior staff.

Requirements:

  • Leadership experience in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with dietary requirements and menu creation.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP management, and compliance with local health and safety regulations.
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate desirable.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Creative culinary mind, up to date on local and international food trends.
  • Ability to work closely with suppliers to source high-quality products.
  • High levels of organisation and time management skills.
