Executive Sous Chef Position at Luxury Hotel

The opportunity to join a world-class culinary team is now available at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, one of Sydney's iconic first international 5-star hotels.
In partnership with House Made Hospitality, a globally inspired hospitality group behind Lana, Grana, Promenade & Martinez, we are seeking a talented Sous Chef to craft a unique experience where luxury reaches new heights.
This is a chance to be part of the "Rebirth of a Sydney Icon" with us, as we offer an unforgettable luxury escape at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, blending French Zest and Sofitel luxury.
Our talented culinary team is expanding as we prepare to unveil our new world-class dining precinct, and we are looking for a Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef and Executive Chef in the management of the kitchen team.
You will oversee food preparation, production, and implementation of menus designed to deliver innovation and project Sofitel Sydney Wentworth as a luxury hotel and a market leader in the Sydney food industry.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing daily food service and on-site kitchen operations.
- Ensuring food standards, preparation, presentation, and cooking techniques meet Brand Standard guidelines.
- Coordinating the stewarding team to meet kitchen requirements.
- Assisting in developing new menus and concepts.
- Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and Supervisors to meet food and beverage operational objectives.
Qualifications include:
- Culinary excellence: minimum 4 years' experience as a Sous Chef.
- Food Handler Certificate.
- Trade Certification Level 3. Level 4 preferred, but not essential.
- Creative flair with knowledge of current food trends.
- Strong kitchen managerial skills and operational leadership.
- Team building and strong employee relations.
- A drive for customer satisfaction.
- Alignment with Sofitel and House Made Hospitality values, and commitment to undertake growth and development within these brands.
