About the Role:

This Senior Testing Director position is an initial 6-month fixed-term contract with potential extension. You will oversee the testing function within a major financial institution, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies to ensure software applications' quality, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a thorough testing strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives and technology roadmap.
  • Lead and manage a team of test professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and training to optimize performance.
  • Establish efficient testing processes, including test planning, design, execution, and defect management.
  • Drive the adoption of test automation tools and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency, coverage, and reliability.
  • Maintain the highest quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate testing risks to minimize project delivery and business operations impact.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates on testing progress and addressing concerns.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the testing team, identifying opportunities to enhance testing practices and processes.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in financial institutions, preferably banking.
  • Proven track record integrating, managing, and leading multiple testing teams from diverse backgrounds.
  • Expertise in various testing types, including functional, non-functional, performance, and security testing.
