A high-level technical director role at a leading company in Australia, where you'll join an innovative team that's continuously growing.

Due to the company's global success and rapid growth, we're seeking a Technical Director of Quality Engineering to ensure seamless product delivery. You will focus on efficient development, high-quality software release, and team excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and owning long-term quality vision across the organisation
  • Implementing new testing paradigms to drive growth in products and engineering
  • Designing and executing comprehensive test strategies across engineering
  • Architecting, building, and scaling highly efficient test automation frameworks for functional, regression, performance, and stress testing
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to influence architectural decisions ensuring testability and quality
  • Leading in triaging and diagnosing complex issues, assessing impact, and determining solutions driving fast resolution and minimal disruption
  • Ensuring seamless integration of tests into CI/CD pipelines, optimising workflows for speed and reliability
  • Providing strategic insights through reporting on test coverage and effectiveness
  • Mentoring engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation in quality assurance

Required skills and experience include:

  • Extensive experience in modern object-oriented programming languages, primarily PHP, JavaScript, and Golang
  • Advanced knowledge of API testing, including RESTful, OpenAPI/Swagger, and gRPC
  • Deep experience with building, automating, and scaling E2E test frameworks using tools like Playwright, WebdriverIO, and Maestro for web and mobile testing
  • Highly proficient in SQL for debugging and resolving complex data issues, driving data-driven testing practices
  • Architecting and maintaining scalable testing frameworks and tooling, enabling efficient testing across multiple environments and platforms
  • Building comprehensive reporting tools providing actionable insights into test coverage, performance metrics, and areas for improvement
  • Partnering with DevOps and engineering teams to drive continuous delivery and automated release processes using tools like Jenkins and advanced CI/CD pipelines
  • Influencing quality-centric methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle, focusing on improving performance and scalability
  • Expertise in working with large-scale cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, applying testing solutions at a global scale

Salary: AU$180,000 - AU$220,000 per annum.
