Role Overview

As a Relationship Manager focused on Mid-Market clients, you will be instrumental in nurturing and expanding our strategic partnerships within a designated portfolio of merchants. Your goal will be to surpass profitability objectives for both Square and our partners.

We seek a professional who can effectively manage a business segment within Square's operations. You will spearhead the development and execution of vertical strategies, driving growth and identifying opportunities for best practices that can be implemented across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and enhance long-term, profitable partnerships that benefit our Merchants, Customers, and Square. You will focus on sustainable business growth from revenue generation to unit economics.
  • Engage with C-level executives and manage stakeholder relationships. This position requires adeptness in leading and managing intricate partnerships while fostering advocacy.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Square's global operations to ensure localized engagement for your portfolio of merchants.
  • Oversee a complex portfolio, driving the development and analysis of its performance. You will negotiate and implement multi-year account strategies alongside our strategic partners, refining pricing and contract renewal processes to establish clear ROI models.
  • Execute a proactive growth strategy aimed at increasing merchant usage, satisfaction, and revenue across existing contracts and new opportunities.
  • Develop and enhance our Merchant Value proposition, both in-store and online. Establish effective marketing practices and expansion strategies with partners while monitoring performance metrics.
  • Identify and promote best practices across various domains, including Operations, Risk Management, Staff Training, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing initiatives.
  • Advocate for Merchants within Square, fostering cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Product, Legal, Risk, and Operations to ensure our offerings meet and exceed expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a client-facing Sales, Account Management, or Customer Success role.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, capable of navigating complex stakeholder dynamics.
  • Experience in eCommerce or a startup environment with global reach is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in planning, people management, reporting, and profitability analysis.
  • Background in B2B sales.
  • Ability to manage a complex portfolio while achieving outstanding results.
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Experience in program and project management is advantageous.
  • History of developing Go-to-Market strategies that yield significant results and scalability.
