Range Operations Specialist

About the Role

As a Range Operator with Ventia, you will be working on live ranges watching live fire next to our Australian defence force. You will provide range services at the Range Defence Training facility, corresponding areas and exclusion zones during live range activities and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Red Flags / Red Lights are positioned in accordance with Range Standing Orders
  • Preparation of ranges along with providing assistance to range users and other customers
  • Undertake Land Management activities including; grass cutting, tree removal, weed spraying
  • Undertake first response bush firefighting activities within the limitations of qualifications, available equipment, safety and crew size
  • Undertake basic Estate Upkeep functions such as fence and gate repairs and other tasks
  • Manufacture and repair targets as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current Drivers Licence – Required
  • HR Truck Licence - Desirable
  • Experience in Range Training Areas and/or Land Management - Desirable

Salary and Benefits

This full-time opportunity offers an estimated salary of $60,000 per annum, plus overtime. Your days of work range from Monday – Sunday based on the schedule of works that are planned around the Defence force.
