This role offers an exciting opportunity to bring your technical expertise to our Darwin office and contribute to the success of our NT Workers Compensation function.
About the RoleAs a Claims Specialist - Workers Compensation, you will be responsible for coordinating the claim lodgement process, determining liability within legislative timeframes, and communicating decisions to stakeholders.
You will work closely with our claims teams to provide coaching and advice on liability and entitlement determinations, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective outcomes.
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in workers compensation claims management, impairment assessment guidelines, and relevant case law.
- Determine liability for claims within legislative timeframes;
- Undertake specialist claims investigation, determine normal weekly earnings, lump sum, and whole person impairment entitlements;
- Provide education to workers, employers, and treating medical practitioners regarding rights and responsibilities;
- Prepare required paperwork for NT WorkSafe in relation to mediation requests;
- Attend mediations and work health court conferences as required.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A strong working knowledge of the NT Workers Compensation legislation and guidelines;
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate at all levels of organisation and with various stakeholders;
- A proactive and holistic mindset;
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail;
- Empathetic and enthusiastic, with a strong sense of team and collaboration;
- A resilient attitude.
We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience, to attract top talent and reward outstanding performance.
