About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned employee relations expert to join our team as a Strategic Employee Relations Manager. As a key member of our HR function, you will play a critical role in delivering our employee relations strategy and ensuring that all employee issues are managed in a fair and equitable manner.

You will be responsible for providing strategic and operational ER/IR leadership, leveraging your expertise in legislation, policies, and procedures to drive best practice employment relations outcomes. You will work closely with internal teams, including people and culture business partners, and business unit leaders across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead and/or manage investigations or processes in response to discrimination, harassment, and bullying complaints through end-to-end case management;
  • Provide advocacy, or lead support, for contested matters in the Fair Work Commission and Anti-Discrimination Tribunals;
  • Proactively review P&C policy and process, identifying areas of improvement, and develop and implement training to address any deficits;

About You

We are looking for an accomplished ER specialist who can engage with senior stakeholders while also providing guidance and support to the rest of the P&C team. Your stakeholder engagement and management skills will be one of the main drivers for success in this role, as will be your commerciality. Your audience will be diverse, with competing priorities and unique situations for you to work through. We need you to demonstrate critical thinking, resilience, and problem-solving to achieve successful outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading enterprise agreement negotiations, including preparing for, negotiating, and obtaining approval of enterprise agreements;
  • Legally qualified and experienced in employment law, potentially holding a practicing certificate (ideal but not essential);
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary industrial and employee relations, including knowledge of recent legislation amendments;
  • Experience in preparing for, negotiating, and appearing in person at the FWC and other Courts and Tribunals;
