About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Employee Relations Specialist to join our team at OnTalent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and support on industrial relations legislation, policies, and compliance, ensuring seamless operations in line with QBCC objectives.
  • Act as a key advisor on employment legislation, including the Industrial Relations Act 2016 and other relevant directives, to maintain optimal employee relations.
  • Collaborate with unions and stakeholders to foster constructive relationships and facilitate smooth negotiations, promoting a collaborative workplace culture.
  • Educate and coach senior leaders and HR teams to enhance their employee relations capabilities, driving effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Represent as an industrial advocate at the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) and other forums, providing high-level advocacy experience.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues, including grievances, investigations, and disputes, ensuring timely and effective resolution to maintain employee trust and confidence.
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial legislation, awards, and agreements, with experience in negotiations and consultation processes.
  • Proven advocacy experience in industrial tribunals or similar settings, demonstrating exceptional negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to provide high-level advice on complex employee relations matters, driving informed decision-making.
  • Ideal candidates will have government or public sector experience, with a C class driver's license and willingness to travel for business purposes.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
