Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive People & Culture Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for hiring, managing staff documents, ensuring compliance, and continuously improving HR systems and processes. Additionally, you will be in charge of rostering, training and development for support staff, organizing meetings, taking meeting minutes, and handling HR inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hiring and Onboarding: Manage the recruitment process from job postings to onboarding new employees, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization.
  • Document Management & Compliance: Ensure that all staff documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulations, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • HR Systems & Process Improvement: Continuously develop and enhance HR systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness, streamlining processes and reducing administrative burdens.
  • Rostering: Create and manage staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage and adherence to regulations, ensuring a smooth operation of our services.
  • Training & Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and efficiency of support staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Meeting Coordination: Organize meetings, prepare agendas, and take detailed minutes, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • HR Support: Provide prompt responses to HR inquiries from staff, offering guidance and support as needed, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements
  • Advanced Proficiency with MS Office: Strong command of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to create and edit complex documents and spreadsheets.
  • HR Knowledge: Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Rostering Knowledge: Experience in creating and managing staff rosters, with a strong understanding of scheduling and time management principles.
  • People Management: Proven experience in managing and developing teams, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve their best.
  • Training Development: Skills in creating and implementing training programs to enhance workforce efficiency, with a focus on adult learning principles and best practices.
  • Advanced Diploma or Certificate IV in Human Resource: A recognized qualification in human resources, with a strong understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated high level of cross-cultural awareness: The ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment, with a strong understanding of diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and legislation: A strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and legislation, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Proven experience in an Aboriginal community/health/disability service: Experience working in an Aboriginal community, health, or disability service, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these sectors.
  • Profound understanding and practical experience with community-based supports within a person-centered practice framework: A deep understanding of community-based supports and person-centered practice, with practical experience in implementing these approaches in a real-world setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme: A strong understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, including its application, participant safeguards, and NDIA participant plan purpose.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large teams, workflows, and team coordination/supervision: Proven experience in managing large teams, workflows, and team coordination/supervision, with a strong understanding of project management principles and best practices.
