Senior Mining Engineer Role

This is a key leadership position that plays a crucial role in developing and executing mine designs and schedules.

The successful candidate will have experience in similar positions, preferably within the resources sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximize operational productivity and equipment utilization.
  • Prepare and communicate site physicals for annual budget and monthly forecast processes.
  • Provide detailed rolling medium-term forecasts and budgets for the operation.
  • Communicate effectively with technical services, CHPP, maintenance, and mine operations personnel regarding deliverables for mid/long-term schedules.
  • Assist and mentor other members of the technical services team as required.
  • Ensure designs/schedules are compliant with relevant statutory requirements and legislation.
  • Actively report hazards and incidents.
  • Participate in safety investigations as required.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will have experience in a similar position, preferably within the resources sector.

  • Demonstrated experience as a Mining Engineer is essential.
  • Significant site experience in a mine operation, preferably in an open-cut coal mine.
  • Proven experience in mine scheduling and design, along with associated tasks.
  • Competent user of Vulcan, Deswik, Spry.
  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Commitment to safety and the environment.
