Key Mining Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled mining engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our operations. As a key member, you will be responsible for planning and delivering expert technical advice that supports strategic decision-making and optimises mine scheduling and performance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver best practice mining engineering services and support to the mine, ensuring compliance with all safety systems and legislation.
  • Ensure the quality of Technical Services Mining delivered are fit-for-purpose and can bridge the gap between theoretical/design and practicality in the workplace.
  • Work across the ventilation and gas management space to ensure safe and compliant underground mining conditions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of systems that support effective airflow and gas monitoring.
  • Enhance the value of resources by applying relevant technology, collaborating with stakeholders to develop a strategy for its implementation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Plan and coordinate mine planning and production review meeting engaging all relevant site stakeholders.
  • Support production goals by maintaining high standards in underground environmental controls.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive operating experience in UG coal mining.
  • A detailed understanding of the coal mining processes.
  • Working knowledge of relevant mining legislation and its application.
  • A high level of planning and problem-solving ability.
  • Previous experience within underground mining operations (preferably coal).
  • Previous experience with mine planning tools.
