Job Title: Excavation Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Excavation Specialist to play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our mining operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering expert technical advice that supports strategic decision-making and optimizes mine scheduling and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver best practice excavation services and support to ensure compliance with all safety systems and legislation.
  • Ensure the quality of technical services delivered are fit-for-purpose and can bridge the gap between theoretical/design and practicality in the workplace.
  • Work across the ventilation and gas management space to ensure safe and compliant underground mining conditions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of systems that support effective airflow and gas monitoring.
  • Enhance the value of resources by applying relevant technology, collaborating with stakeholders to develop a strategy for its implementation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Plan and coordinate mine planning and production review meetings engaging all relevant site stakeholders.
  • Support production goals by maintaining high standards in underground environmental controls.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified Mining Engineer (or equivalent).
  • Extensive operating experience in UG coal mining.
  • A detailed understanding of coal mining processes.
  • Working knowledge of relevant mining legislation and its application.
  • A high level of planning and problem-solving ability.
  • Previous experience within underground mining operations (preferably coal).
  • Previous experience with mine planning tools.
