Job Title: Mining Engineer
Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join our mining operations team at the Moranbah North Mine. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our underground mine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver best practice mining engineering services and support to the mine, ensuring compliance with all safety systems and legislation.
- Ensure the quality of technical services mining delivered are fit-for-purpose and can bridge the gap between theoretical/design and practicality in the workplace.
- Work across the ventilation and gas management space to ensure safe and compliant underground mining conditions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of systems that support effective airflow and gas monitoring.
- Enhance the value of resources by applying relevant technology, collaborating with stakeholders to develop a strategy for its implementation and ongoing maintenance.
- Plan and coordinate mine planning and production review meetings engaging all relevant site stakeholders.
- Support production goals by maintaining high standards in underground environmental controls.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree qualified Mining Engineer (or equivalent)
- Extensive operating experience in UG coal mining
- A detailed understanding of the coal mining processes
- Working knowledge of relevant mining legislation and its application
- A high level of planning and problem-solving ability
- Previous experience within underground mining operations (preferably coal)
- Previous experience with mine planning tools
