Data Center Operations Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Center Operations Trainee to join our team at Amazon. As a Data Center Operations Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of critical infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the Management of Contractors and Vendors: Collaborate with on-site management to ensure that all work performed by contractors and vendors meets established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
- Maintain Performance Benchmarks: Conduct analyses and prepare reports on critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Generate Change Management Requests and Incident Management Tickets: Assist in generating requests and tickets for Data Center Engineering Operations as directed.
- Contribute to Documentation: Learn and contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
- Assist with Installation and Maintenance: Assist with the installation of racks and provision of power/cooling within constraints, and participate in routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems.
- Support Facility Design and Implementation: Assist in the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
- Manage Facility Assets: Assist with the management of facility assets and provision of infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
- Participate in Meetings and Reviews: Participate in construction and operational meetings as required, and assist with work order compliance and review of contractual SLAs.
- Interface with Infra Ops Teams: Interface with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational requirements.
- Resolve Infrastructure Issues: Assist in the resolution of any infrastructure engineering or services issue.
- Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Meet Operational Requirements: Meet daily hours of operations, shift, and on-call requirements for response during shift rotations.
Basic Qualifications
- Interest in maintenance of a Data Center or Critical space facility.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Facilities Management mindset.
- Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.
- Physical Security protocol awareness.
- Computer literate, confident with Office Suite.
- This position also has a physical component requiring the ability to lift rack equipment; it may require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) Degree Cert IV and relevant experience.
- Data Center Engineering/Operations Experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
