Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at Microsoft. As a Data Center Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to quickly identify and resolve issues with minimal customer and business disruption.
  • Set up and configure hardware deployments, including grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling, according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes, following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate and report incidents to appropriate management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
  • Assist and provide guidance to other technicians to complete challenging or complex tasks.
  • Complete required training and observe more experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and relevant on-the-job training.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
  • 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Ability to work shifts, including evening, nighttime, weekends, and/or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
