We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Business Development Manager to drive world-class practice initiatives and ensure our Property Portfolio remains market leading in process and system efficiency, partnerships with suppliers, and customer care. This role will focus on creating a competitive landscape through effective reshaping and reimagining of our processes, network design, and execution, with an emphasis on strategic and complex insurance repair supplier engagement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of the strategic and execution functions of the A&G Australia Insurance business, across Home product lines distributed through Direct brands, White label, and Aggregation partnership businesses
  • Maximising the customer experience, operational efficiency, average repair cost, and cost controls across the business
  • Developing systems and tools to monitor and manage contract deliverables, service levels, and commercial outcomes
  • Assisting with defining and executing business plans and communicating and managing objectives to achieve the Supplier Sourcing and business financial goals
  • Managing and undergoing sourcing exercises and negotiations for contracts and tenders to achieve the best possible commercial outcome while monitoring existing arrangements to ensure these are value adding
  • Leading, coaching, developing, and managing the senior management team with an emphasis on developing capability in strategic alignment and technical delivery, process optimisation, and people care as well as providing guidance and mentorship to those in your team
  • Developing and implementing policy with regards to supplier management as well as developing new capabilities and programs that develop a true, cost-effective repair service platform
  • Providing contract management support to project teams throughout the contract life cycle
  • Identifying and realising market and internal opportunities to create a competitive advantage
  • Developing new and redefining existing commercial relationships to right-size the growing scale of our network of repairers, as well as aligning behaviours and ultimately culture to our core service proposition to ensure a seamless customer journey

We're looking for someone with Claims and/or significant Insurance Industry experience, demonstrated best practice strategic procurement, including centralisation of commercial strategies and achievement of significant cost savings. The ideal candidate will have exceptional understanding of financial levers, high commercial acumen, and superior communication skills, as well as a track record of success driving performance through accountability for results and a performance culture.
