Job Description

As a Financial Management Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that the firm meets all financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. You will measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm's business. This includes maintaining the books and records for the firm's subsidiaries, preparing reporting packages under US GAAP, and preparing financial statements under relevant local GAAP.

You will also ensure that the firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets. This includes working closely with other areas within Controllers, both in Australia and globally, as well as with other divisions. Additionally, you will participate in cross-divisional projects for new business initiatives and develop a broad understanding of the securities business and financial products industry.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in accounting and finance. A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related subject is preferred, along with 3-5 years of professional accounting experience. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, as well as self-motivation and a desire to succeed. Teamwork and organizational skills are also highly valued.
