Climate Change and Sustainability Role

Insignia Financial is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Climate Change and Sustainability Specialist. This role will play a key part in developing and implementing climate change capabilities and strategies, including materiality assessments, scenario analysis, transition plans, climate metrics, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct climate risk-related materiality assessments, maturing from qualitative to quantitative measurements in line with reporting requirements.
  • Incorporate materiality assessments into transition planning and financial reporting to inform high-priority areas of climate risks and opportunities.
  • Develop the foundational structure of Insignia's Climate Transition Plan, working with Strategy to link in with the annual and 3-year business reviews.
  • Work with key stakeholders to build climate risk scenario assessments.
  • Play a key role in building Insignia's climate metrics and operational emissions for disclosure, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
  • Play a key role in building Insignia's climate metrics to understand and report on 'financed' emissions across multiple financial products.
  • Build Climate transition planning and reporting processes to meet public disclosure requirements.
  • Work with key stakeholders to set operational emissions targets and implement into Insignia's strategy.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar or like-for-like role.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG frameworks and climate-related risks.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment, including exposure to the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures.
  • Experience in the development of ESG reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders and business units.
  • Experience in the superannuation industry is preferred.
