Job Summary

The Registry Training Officer is a key role within the South Australian Cancer Registry, responsible for providing expert training and support to Registry Officers in cancer coding. This position requires a strong understanding of cancer coding principles and the ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement training programs for Registry Officers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to accurately code cancer notifications.
  • Provide technical support to Registry Officers, addressing any coding queries or concerns they may have.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and consistency of cancer coding.
  • Participate in special projects related to public health surveillance and provide advice to other Registry Officers.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of cancer coding principles and practices.
  • Excellent training and facilitation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver engaging training programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address coding errors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with Registry Officers and other stakeholders.
