About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Trainer to join our team at Cavpower, the Caterpillar Dealership for South Australia. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and presenting practical and theoretical information to employees and external customers.

  • Mentor and develop technicians and apprentices
  • Provide guidance and solutions to technicians as needed
  • Oversee work experience students when required
  • Presentation of information using various instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures
  • Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials such as handouts and visual materials
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities and program effectiveness
  • Attend meetings and seminars to obtain information for use in training programs or to inform management of training program status
  • Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs
  • Analyze rework data and other operational measurements to recommend training outcomes to assist with increasing quality of work and efficiency processes
About You

We are looking for an effective, organized, and well-communicated Technical Trainer who approaches everything with energy, drive, and a commitment to excellence.

You will need to bring your experience to the fore, including:

  • Caterpillar experience
  • Hold a current, unrestricted driver's license
  • Certificate 4 in Workplace Training and Assessment (preferred)
  • Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Trade
  • Certificate and training in CPR and First Aid (preferred)
  • Previous experience in researching, developing, and presenting training material to employees, customers, and/or apprentices
  • Previous experience in managing and developing apprentices
  • Previous practical experience in a mechanical trade
  • Previous experience in structuring training programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety procedures and guidelines
  • Sound organizational skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
