About Us
At Family Planning Tasmania, we believe that access to quality sexual and reproductive healthcare and education is a fundamental human right. As the leading provider of these services across Tasmania, we deliver compassionate care through our state-wide clinics and education programs. Our staff and Board are dedicated to providing services that are non-judgmental, inclusive, and respectful of privacy and confidentiality.
The Opportunity
As the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead Family Planning Tasmania into its next chapter. You will work closely with the Board to implement FPT's strategic direction, ensuring financial sustainability, operational excellence, and alignment with FPT's values. The CEO will be a key advocate for sexual health rights and will lead a passionate team of professionals across our clinics in Glenorchy, Launceston, and Burnie.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Work with internal and external stakeholders to formulate and execute FPT's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and financial sustainability.
- Cultural Development: Build a positive, supportive workplace culture, fostering teamwork and collaboration across all departments.
- Operational Management: Oversee the management team, ensure effective service delivery, and maintain a focus on continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the public face of FPT, advocating for sexual and reproductive health, and strengthening relationships with relevant government bodies, and other key partners.
- Financial Oversight: Ensure sound financial management, including budgeting, funding negotiations, and identifying additional income-generating opportunities.
- Clinical Governance: Strengthen clinical governance and ensure alignment with national standards.
About You
The successful candidate will be an inclusive leader with a track record of developing high performing teams, working with complex funding models and driving sustainable growth. A strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, who possesses the emotional intelligence needed to foster a positive and collaborative workplace. We want a go-getter passionate about improving health outcomes for vulnerable communities and ready to take on the challenge of leading a purpose-driven organisation like FPT.
Key Attributes and Experience:
- Proven experience in senior leadership, preferably within the health, social services, or not-for-profit sectors.
- Strong financial literacy, including experience with budgeting, data analysis, and funding arrangements.
- Ability to foster a supportive, collaborative workplace culture
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships across government, healthcare, and community sectors.
- Experience with clinical governance, policy development, and advocacy.
- A genuine passion for sexual and reproductive health and rights.
