Financial Controller

Talent Right is partnering with MFI Automotive to find an experienced Financial Controller who will join the leadership team in a newly created role.

MFI Automotive, with over 35 years of expertise, specialises in building Australia's most durable, efficient, and safe service bodies for commercial, emergency, and recreational needs. Known for innovation and robust designs, MFI supports clients with custom service bodies that meet high demands for corporate and trade use.

Role Overview:

  • The Financial Controller will lead MFI's financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • This role partners closely with production, operations, and senior leadership to align financial goals with business strategies.

About the Role:

  • You will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of the organisation, influencing strategic decisions that drive our success.
  • You will work closely with the senior leadership team, directly impacting the financial strategies and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets in collaboration with department heads
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance
  • Oversee costing activities and implement cost-control measures
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain internal controls
  • Monitor cash flow and manage working capital for operational needs
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting professional development
  • Support financial strategies to enhance company performance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
  • 5–7 years in accounting/financial management
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel
  • Experience in cost accounting and ERP systems is advantageous
  • Business acumen; ability to influence senior decision-makers
  • Proactive, creative problem-solver with a drive for continuous improvement
  • Proven track record in achieving high performance and financial success

Compensation Package:

  • A competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, reflecting your experience and qualifications
