About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Learning and Development Manager to join our team at OnTalent. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the strategic development, design, and implementation of a world-class training program across our business in New Zealand and Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that aligns with our business objectives and meets the needs of our employees.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to develop and implement a structured training program that ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Identify industry-specific best practices and incorporate them into our training programs.
  • Support safe and reliable performance of duties by ensuring compliance with site, corporate, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Establish relationships with leadership, subject matter experts, operations engineers, managers, supervisors, and staff to support training processes.
  • Develop and implement standardized training processes and tools that align with regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Implement adult learning methodologies and develop the team to deliver one-on-one mentoring and instruction, in-field training, small group training, virtual, and formal stand-up instruction.
  • Collaborate with external resources to analyze needs, design, develop, and implement an effective and sustainable training program.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with professional experience in learning and development and change management.
  • Previous proven documentation of developing and writing training programs.
  • Ability to lead and motivate learners by appealing to the characteristics of adult learners.
  • Ability to assess training needs, translate job requirements into training requirements, and coordinate instructional material during development and in presentations.
  • Previous experience assessing performance and skillsets to determine the appropriate strategy to achieve optimal results.
  • Networking skills to help get others to support training activities, including the ability to encourage and improve the level of engagement within the team.
  • Presentation skills suitable for all types of training methods.
  • Computer literate with experience in core Microsoft office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI reporting.
  • Strong strategic capabilities coupled with superior business acumen and a customer-focused approach.
  • A trustworthy, credible, and respected executive with a track record of setting and meeting commitments.
  • Change management experience with a demonstrated track record of successfully implementing change.
  • Ability to build strong positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • A genuine team player.
  • Persistent, tenacious, and results-oriented mindset.
  • Problem-solving orientation and ability to think critically under pressure.
What We Offer

We offer a market-leading salary package and incentive for the successful candidate. Regular travel through ANZ will be required in year one, with this reducing once L&D is established. If you are not located in Brisbane, Auckland, or Toowoomba, a work-from-home scenario would be required.
