Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is competitive, ranging from $66,963 - $72,559 per annum, plus superannuation, district allowance, and remote benefits. In addition, we offer six weeks' annual leave, a strong commitment to professional development, and access to our health services for you and your family at no cost.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Family Support Worker to join our Child Health and Development Centre team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for effectively engaging with families and children from referral through to completion of the program. You will ensure cultural safety across the Centre and throughout the program, contributing to program planning and implementation.

Congress has a strong focus on cultural safety and working within a bi-cultural model. The successful applicant will be critical to ensuring the program at the Congress CHaD Centre delivers supportive, culturally appropriate primary healthcare and builds on existing positive relationships with Aboriginal families to ensure regular family engagement, increased enrolments, and increased children's participation and attendance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you will require:

  • A recognition as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community;
  • A willingness to commence study of a minimum Certificate III in Children's Services or equivalent as recognised by ACECQA;
  • Proven experience in providing effective support to Aboriginal children in a learning and health development environment and their families;
  • A current NT Drivers Licence, or ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
Total Effective Package

The total effective package includes base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax saving from salary packaging options. This package ranges from $85,053 - $91,350 per annum.
