**Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Career Opportunity**

We are seeking a highly motivated and culturally sensitive Aboriginal Family Support Specialist to join our team in Central Australia.

**About the Role:**

The Aboriginal Family Support Specialist will work collaboratively with Social Workers and a youth focused Psychologist under a bi-cultural pair model to provide culturally safe case management advocacy, liaison, support and referral services to children aged 8 to 17 years old, and their families, referred to Congress' Back on Track (BoT) Program.

The program focuses on working with young people and their families on criminal diversion, restorative justice, reengagement with education and training, and alternatives to youth detention.

About You:

  • You identify as an Aboriginal person, recognised and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community.
  • You hold a qualification (Cert III or above) and experience in one or more of the following areas – family support, early childhood, education, or health, or working towards qualification.
  • You have knowledge of the local Aboriginal community with an ability to engage with a diversity of Aboriginal families across different language groups.
  • You have demonstrated experience and skills in providing support to vulnerable families with young children, including understanding child development and the impact of trauma on children, including neglect.
  • You have the ability to use a computer for data entry and case note recording.
  • You hold a current NT Drivers Licence or are able to obtain one.

  • This is a full-time, contract position.

**Estimated Salary:** $93,499 - $102,934 per annum.*
