The Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong invites applications for the position of Education Officer - Improvement and Learning Specialist. This role is an integral part of the Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing service area, focusing on supporting schools in creating a learning culture that enhances educational opportunities for high potential and gifted students.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and the broader Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing team to develop and implement individual learning plans.
- Facilitate professional learning for teachers and leaders to ensure the principles of high potential and gifted education are embedded in curriculum delivery and classroom practice.
- Manage the case of identified individual students and provide support for schools in developing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing individual learning plans.
- A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church.
- Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with a capacity to inspire staff and bring about change.
- Demonstrated commitment to work in alignment with the Continuous Catholic School Improvement Framework and engage with an inquiry mindset.
- A passion for the education of high potential and gifted students with an understanding of evidence-based holistic support.
- Evidence of formal study or a willingness to undertake accredited postgraduate study in High Potential and Gifted Education.
- Experience as a middle leader or above in a school or educational services setting.
- Understanding of the principles of learning as they apply to learners from K-12, as well as adult learners.
This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working with Children Check is required prior to employment.
