Job Title

Predmission Liaison Nurse plays a pivotal role in the pre-operative period, serving as patient advocate and providing education and support to patients undergoing surgery.

As key member of the Surgical Access Office team, you will lead coordination of care provided by multidisciplinary team to ensure best possible outcome for every patient on the planned surgery list.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advocating for patients and delivering patient education and support during the pre-operative period.
  • Coordinating care provided by multidisciplinary team to ensure best possible outcome for every patient on the planned surgery list.
  • Striving to improve service provided to both patients and health service by adhering to Planned Surgery Access Policy 2024.

To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with ability to adapt and problem solve. A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management is essential, along with ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to collaborative team environment.

Required qualifications and skills include experience and knowledge of hospital Patient Administration Systems (iPM), advanced Microsoft Office literacy, well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with strong patient focus, and ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary team.

A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check are also required, along with proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
