Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and supervise food preparation and cooking activities in the restaurant.
- Assist in planning and developing new menus and recipes to meet customer demands.
- Inspect the quality and freshness of ingredients and dishes at all stages to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and personal judgment.
- Operate kitchen equipment and utensils, such as WOK burners, knives, frypans, and grills, to ensure efficient and safe food preparation.
- Supervise and demonstrate cooking techniques to ensure kitchen staff understand and follow correct procedures.
- Monitor inventory and ordering stock to maintain optimal levels and minimize waste.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation regulations and safety standards in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with other personnel, such as the manager and kitchen staff, to discuss food preparation issues and improve overall kitchen performance.
- Select, train, and manage kitchen staff to ensure a high-performing team.
Essential Skills:
- At least three years of experience working in a fast-paced high-volume kitchen environment.
- Ability to create and deliver high-quality food that meets customer expectations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Good understanding and compliance with OH&S regulations.
- Sound demonstration of product knowledge, technical skills, and food standards.
