Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and supervise food preparation and cooking activities in the restaurant.
  • Assist in planning and developing new menus and recipes to meet customer demands.
  • Inspect the quality and freshness of ingredients and dishes at all stages to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and personal judgment.
  • Operate kitchen equipment and utensils, such as WOK burners, knives, frypans, and grills, to ensure efficient and safe food preparation.
  • Supervise and demonstrate cooking techniques to ensure kitchen staff understand and follow correct procedures.
  • Monitor inventory and ordering stock to maintain optimal levels and minimize waste.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation regulations and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with other personnel, such as the manager and kitchen staff, to discuss food preparation issues and improve overall kitchen performance.
  • Select, train, and manage kitchen staff to ensure a high-performing team.

Essential Skills:

  • At least three years of experience working in a fast-paced high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Ability to create and deliver high-quality food that meets customer expectations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Good understanding and compliance with OH&S regulations.
  • Sound demonstration of product knowledge, technical skills, and food standards.
