Chef/Cook/Restaurant Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef/Cook/Restaurant Manager to join our team at The trustee for Raktacino Cafe Unit Trust t/a Raktacino Cafe and Pizzeria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the culinary team in preparing and presenting high-quality food for regular service and functions.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to plan and develop menus, considering factors such as seasonal availability of ingredients, customer demand, and menu pricing.
  • Provide costings and pricing for new menu items.
  • Inspect and maintain stock levels to minimize waste and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Monitor and enforce sanitation practices to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Train and instruct kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques.
  • Assist in recruitment and induction of new kitchen staff.
  • Discuss equipment purchases and repairs with the Restaurant Manager.
  • Meet with customers to discuss menu options for special occasions.
Requirements:
  • Relevant AQF Diploma or 3 years of relevant experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience for applicants with qualifications.
Salary:

$74,000 - $76,000 (salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience).
