We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Developmental Speech Pathologist to join our team. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support to children aged 0-12 with complex disabilities and developmental delay.

Job Description

The Graduate Program

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your skills as a speech pathologist, working collaboratively with families to assess needs and develop tailored intervention plans. You will have the opportunity to consolidate your existing skills in speech therapy while incorporating training in other areas to provide a holistic approach to interventions.

As part of our two-year Graduate Program, you will participate in ten training modules, covering various aspects of occupational therapy and key worker responsibilities. You will also receive regular supervision sessions, monthly graduate meetings, and shadowing opportunities across Allied Health/Early Childhood areas.

Our team of allied health professionals and early childhood education specialists will be available to support you in implementing key worker strategies for children aged 0-7 years. Additionally, you will have access to discipline-specific caseloads for children aged 7 to 12, with opportunities for consults and shadowing sessions in other discipline areas.

Responsibilities
  • Working collaboratively with families to assess needs and develop tailored intervention plans.
  • Utilising a coaching approach to facilitate family confidence in implementing strategies and supports for consumers.
  • Collaborating with members of the team to support individual consumer caseloads.
  • Providing direct speech therapy support and strategies to children aged 7-12 years.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualified in Speech Pathology with current and ongoing registration with SPA.
  • Knowledge and experience to assess children from 0 to 12 with a variety of clinical and developmental needs.
  • Knowledge and skills in intervention and evaluation of services for children and families.

You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with both children and families.
