About the Role
This Paediatric Speech Pathologist role provides best practice, evidence-based speech pathology services across the scope of practice to children with a disability to achieve their goals and live the life they choose.
Your Responsibilities
- Delivering therapy in people's homes, educational settings or in the community aimed at maximising a person's functional skills and participation as well as promoting physical health and wellbeing.
- Communication skills and/or mealtime safety and promoting overall health and wellbeing.
- Working part of an interdisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Psychologists.
- Providing indirect client service/family coordination to support client goals.
About You
You'll be an established and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist with a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, be a member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA), have good interpersonal skills, and ability to engage people with a disability, motivate them and build their capability.
Requirements
- Experience working within a transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team model.
- The ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
- The opportunity to build on your clinical practice – including the ability to self-reflect and a focus on developing clinical skills in areas you're not familiar with.
- Care for the work you do and for the people you work with.
- Competency in a variety of IT platforms, particularly client management systems.
- Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- An Australian driver's licence and own vehicle, and a willingness to travel across southern suburbs as required.
Salary and Benefits
$90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus salary packaging, and generous paid leave entitlements for personal, caring or parental purposes.
Appointment is subject to pre-employment checks including the NDIS Worker Screening Check, Inherent Position Requirements Employee Declaration, Working with Children's Check, Reference Checks, Speech Pathology Australia membership, etc.
