Purchasing Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Administrator to join our team at Talent Focus. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the production of raw materials and standard stock profiles, ensuring optimum production output in line with project scheduling.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in purchasing, stock control & profiling or MRP in a production environment. A purchasing qualification would be advantageous.

The role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong time management and organisation skills. Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of required stock levels and communication of issues around availability of product.
  • Interacting with colleagues, suppliers and external sales teams in relation to product availability.
  • Stock ordering and control, working to develop, review and maintain optimum stock levels and operating procedures.
  • Purchase order processing and updating incoming control documents with the Production Planner/Manager.
  • Dealing with requests from internal and external sales teams.
  • Scheduling inbound deliveries from supply partners.
  • Maintaining orderly records of all quotations and pricing from suppliers.
  • Supporting the commercial team.
  • Administration of supplier invoices and approvals.
  • Supporting procurement colleagues while also maintaining close working relationship with colleagues, particularly in Commercial, Finance, Production & Warehousing teams.
  • Developing relationships with supplier through phone contact and supplier meetings.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers, building strong rapport with key stakeholders.
  • Responding promptly and effectively when problems arise, in-house or on-site, to minimise disruption and delay.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of purchasing, stock control & profiling or MRP in a production environment.
  • Purchasing qualification would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in the full Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management and organisation with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative.
  • It would be advantageous to have experience working in a manufacturing company before but not critical.
  • Experience in SAP/NAC would be advantageous.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
