Dateline is a renowned international affairs TV series, produced by SBS, that showcases diverse stories from around the world.
The Role
This position will oversee the production requirements of Dateline, including budget management, risk assessment, and contractor engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Dateline budget, including financial reporting and analysis.
- Prepare risk assessments and advise on safety and security protocols.
- Coordinate international travel requirements for Dateline staff and contractors.
- Facilitate contractor engagement, including contract preparation and management.
- Oversee translation, subtitling, and video captioning services.
- Collaborate with the Executive Producer to create and manage the Dateline production schedule.
- Negotiate and create acquisition contracts with worldwide distributors.
- Lead a team of three direct reports.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in a news and current affairs or factual TV environment.
- Proven budget management and financial analysis skills.
- Ability to prepare and analyze risk assessments and safety advisories.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Foreign language skills are highly regarded.
