About our opportunity

This is a unique chance to contribute to the Department of Home Affairs, working on international border policy and operations. The role involves triage and assessment of requests for international assistance, incidents, and operational plans, providing advice in line with ABF's International Strategy.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills. They should be able to contribute to achieving outcomes by aligning operational tasks and engagements with organisational strategic goals and performance reporting.

The team works across ABF International to ensure the branch is governed, supported, coordinated, and strategically aligned. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance.

Key responsibilities
  • Draft quality briefings for ABF executives, Home Affairs, and external stakeholders.
  • Support operational planning, coordination, and response for ABF activities across the border continuum.
  • Secretariat and support functions for various Senior Executive forums, coordinating priorities and strategies.
Requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute to achieving outcomes by aligning operational tasks and engagements with organisational strategic goals.
