International Media Production Manager

SBS, a leading media organisation, seeks an experienced production manager to oversee the development of international content. This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Job Summary

The Senior Production Manager will be responsible for managing the overall production requirements of Dateline, a weekly international current affairs program. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Dateline budget and preparing reports and analysis;
  • Preparing risk assessments and sourcing advice on risk, safety, and security conditions for proposed travel destinations;
  • In collaboration with the production coordinator, organising all international travel requirements;
  • Facilitating contractor engagement, including preparing contracts and invoices;
  • Coordinating translation, subtitling, and video captioning;
  • Working closely with the Executive Producer to create and manage the Dateline production schedule;
  • Negotiating acquisition contracts and licenses with worldwide distributors;
  • Leading a team of three direct reports.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in News and Current Affairs or Factual TV environments;
  • Proven ability to formulate, manage, and monitor budgets and reports;
  • Experience in preparing and analysing risk assessments and safety/security advisories;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate suitable outcomes with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure;
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and problem solve;
  • Foreign language skills highly regarded.

Salary Package

We offer a competitive salary package, estimated at $AUD 120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits such as flexible work arrangements, health checks, and employee assistance programs.
