The JAPAC Revenue Recognition division comprises a team of dedicated professionals who utilize their specialized knowledge and skills to assist Oracle's leadership in executing agreements that optimize revenue across various sectors (software, hardware, cloud, and diverse services), while ensuring strict adherence to both internal and external accounting regulations.

As a key member of this proficient team, your role will involve evaluating the structure of Oracle's multi-element agreements and offering expert advisory services by identifying potential revenue accounting implications on preliminary agreements as well as strategically executed orders. You will collaborate closely with essential stakeholders, including Deal Management, Business Practices, Finance, and Legal. Your primary objective will be to guarantee that quarterly earnings reports fully comply with Oracle's accounting standards and US GAAP guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver technical accounting guidance to Sales, Deal Management, Finance, and Legal teams during the negotiation phase to maximize revenues in alignment with accounting standards while supporting Finance's forecasting efforts. Cultivate and maintain relationships with vital stakeholders such as Sales, Finance, Deal Management, and Legal departments. Keep abreast of the latest technical accounting policies, including Oracle's internal Revenue Recognition Policy. Assess strategic contracts for adherence to the aforementioned policies. Lead or support global initiatives across various Revenue Recognition teams and functions. Foster collaboration within the Global Revenue Recognition Organization to ensure uniform application of revenue accounting practices. Provide training on subject matter to all business lines across JAPAC as necessary.

PERSONAL SKILLS

Qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience. Proficiency in English and Japanese is essential. Strong influencing, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Highly customer-oriented and results-driven. Capability to build robust cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across various departments. Ability to interpret, present, and clarify complex accounting matters to different internal business partners. Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple competing tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated, able to work independently, and advocate for continuous process enhancements in a dynamic environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified accountant or equivalent.

Experience with US GAAP ASC 606 is preferred.
