
Strategic Infrastructure Leader

CQUniversity is seeking a skilled professional to lead a significant campus development in the Cairns CBD. This position offers autonomy within a supportive and outcomes-focused team that values integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through to construction and completion.
- Oversee stakeholder engagement, procurement, contract administration, and risk management.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery.
This role requires a strong background in major capital projects, particularly in education or public infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, submissions, and tenders, and to negotiate effectively in complex stakeholder environments.
Requirements- Demonstrated experience leading major infrastructure projects through all phases—from design and tendering to construction, commissioning, and completion.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including funding bodies, councils, consultants, and contractors to achieve project outcomes.
- Sound knowledge of project management frameworks, with strong capabilities in scheduling, risk management, budgeting, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of legislative requirements, including building codes and local authority regulations.
