Job Description

Aurecon is a leading international design, engineering and advisory company that delivers projects with bold ideas and leaves legacies.

We are looking for an accomplished Civil Engineer with extensive experience in roads and highways to join our Transport team in Cairns.

As a key member of our Queensland Transport team, you will play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of major road and infrastructure projects for TMR, government agencies, local councils and contractor partners.

Your role will include:

  • Leading design delivery for road infrastructure projects in line with TMR guidelines.
  • Contributing to proposal preparation and supporting business development.
  • Driving quality outcomes through technical review and mentoring junior team members.
  • Ensuring effective communication to enhance client experience and team collaboration.
  • Helping shape the strategic direction of projects in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • 8+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on roads and highways.
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) accreditation – essential.
  • Proven capability in TMR project delivery from planning to detailed design.
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for solving complex infrastructure challenges.
  • Experience leading design teams or mentoring others will be highly regarded.
