Technical Trainer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Trainer to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs to our technicians, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their roles.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for technicians, including curriculum training, new model training, and performance improvement training.
- Assist dealers with technical training plans for technicians, review technical training materials, and provide in-depth instruction on Ford vehicle systems.
- Supervise the Technical Training Centre and oversee the maintenance of the Technical Training Facility, including tools and equipment.
- Prepare training classrooms and work bay readiness before conducting classroom training, including preparation of teaching aids, tools, and equipment.
- Provide hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to reinforce technician knowledge of Ford vehicles.
- Ensure and maintain training facility, tools, and equipment for readiness and safety.
- Update training attendance and student completion details to ensure accurate training history data and learner records.
- Support the Technical Training Supervisor and FOA/FNZ SEO Manager(s) to meet technical training requirements and targets.
Requirements:
- A Training certification and/or previous experience/roles in the Technical Training arena.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate trainees through interactive learning activities and demonstrations.
- Above average proficiency with MS Office products.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools, software, and equipment, with the ability to demonstrate proper operation and troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Full Australian Drivers Licence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ford Master Technician or equivalent Ford technical training experience with strong diagnostic capability.
- Understanding of Ford Dealer Service operations and previous Dealer/field experience.
- Ability to build relationships with Technicians and Dealers.
- Ability to maintain positive attitude and influence the team culture when faced with demanding internal and customer expectations and changing requirements.
- Strategic mindset and strong analytical, systemic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Creative thinker/problem solver and ability to consider multiple points of view (flexibility).
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with ability to create leverage.
- Strong project planning skills, with ability to stay organized while managing multiple project components and programs.
- Ability to understand and connect with Technicians.
- Great written and oral communication skills.
