About the Opportunity

As a seasoned leader in the underground coal industry, you will have the opportunity to drive business growth and success at Mastermyne, a reputable coal company with a strong reputation for delivering value to its stakeholders. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the QLD coal operations and provide strategic leadership to drive excellent client and project acquisition and retention, service delivery, partnership management, and network development across the business in QLD.

About You

We are seeking a highly experienced and well-established leader with a strong operational background and industry reputation. You will have a proven track record of success in managing large-scale underground projects, with a strong network of contacts and relationships within the industry. Your ability to identify opportunities, influence decisions, and drive business growth will be essential in helping Mastermyne navigate the changing coal sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the CEO in strategic planning and execution of business plans;
  • Travel extensively to secure and foster strong partnerships state-wide;
  • Generate opportunities, review tender requirements, and provide expert advice on all tender submissions;
  • Establish and implement systems and processes to support existing projects and future growth of the QLD coal contracting operations;
  • Mobilize key projects as planned.
Key Skills/Experience
  • Significant experience in operational roles, preferably in managing large-scale underground projects;
  • Well-known in the coal industry for high service delivery and specialist knowledge;
  • Breadth of experience across various types of projects and contract arrangements;
  • Prior experience working for both a contract miner and an owner is highly desirable;
  • Solutions-focussed, with the ability to understand a client's underlying drivers;
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a consultative approach to implementing changes;
  • Demonstrated experience with contract values ranging from $10 – $70 million per year.
