Role Overview

This role will lead key retailer relationships with Woolworths and Aldi accounts, reporting directly to the CEO. The National Account Manager will develop and execute short, medium, and long-term strategies to drive profitable growth and category diversification.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Exceptional Service: Maintaining strong relationships across buying, supply, and product development teams.
  • Sales Planning and Execution: Developing, communicating, and executing sales plans aligned with business strategies to deliver profitable growth and diversification.
  • Category Management: Managing key categories and day-to-day activities within Woolworths and Aldi, across spreads, nutritional snacks, pet, and health food categories.
  • Promotional Mechanics and P&Ls: Managing promotional mechanics and P&Ls to ensure positive commercial outcomes.
  • New Revenue Opportunities: Identifying new revenue opportunities and developing innovative solutions for profitable growth.
  • Retailer Product Data and NPD: Managing retailer product data, NPD management, and promotional programs alongside the NAE.
  • Market Analysis and Sales Forecasts: Conducting daily and weekly analysis of scan performance (IRI/Quantium) and broader market performance, as well as managing accurate sales forecasts, supply planning, and DIFOT to ensure resource allocation and production planning.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Developing and leading monthly retailer performance reviews and category range review presentations alongside the National Category Manager.

About the Ideal Candidate

We seek an experienced professional with a proven track record in sales and category management within the FMCG industry. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage relationships with key retailers like Coles and Woolworths.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or extensive demonstrated practical experience within a FMCG environment with Woolworths or Coles.
  • A high level of competency in Excel (medium/advanced), PowerPoint, and project management.
  • A proven successful track record in sales, with an understanding of the strategic approach to long-term objectives and the strength of commercial returns from a partnering approach.
  • Results-driven, possessing a proven track record of delivering against targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring new products from ideation to commercialization, working collaboratively with the rest of the business.
  • Expertise in working with IRI and Quantium data tools.
  • High-level commercial acumen and financial P&L modeling.
  • Expertise in creating and presenting insightful and succinct category review presentations.
  • Experience in planning and executing profitable sales strategies and range reviews with a long-term focus.
  • A results-oriented mindset, consistently meeting targets and negotiating large contracts.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • A customer-centric mindset and a genuine desire to provide exceptional service.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and grow.

Estimated Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum
