Procurement Category Lead for Global Construction and Engineering Projects

Simplot, a leading provider of quality food products in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager to join its Asia-Pacific (APAC) Procurement team.

About Our RoleThis is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead procurement processes across assigned categories, including construction, engineering, and maintenance services. As a Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing a long-term strategic category plan to drive value across the enterprise. You will work closely with various business unit stakeholders to prioritize and deliver on portfolio projects.
Your Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a continuous portfolio pipeline to drive procurement processes across assigned categories.
- Establish a long-term strategic category plan to drive value across the enterprise for assigned projects and initiatives.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance to ensure delivery of service, quality, cost, and supply commitments.
- Lead sourcing projects, including RFI, RFP, RFQ, and contract development.
- You have relevant experience in a construction, engineering, maintenance services, or capital-related category.
- You have demonstrated experience in a commercial/procurement role.
- You possess strong communication and partnership-building skills, change management experience is advantageous.
- You have knowledge working in business or functional units supported by the category.
- You have high-level sales, presentation, negotiation, and market/data analytical skills.
- You are proficient in MS Office suite and have experience with Ariba.
- You have demonstrated experience in 'should cost' modeling, corporate capital procurement processes, and strategic cost management.
- You understand procurement project controls and project management tools.
- You hold a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or an associate degree combined with 7-10 years of experience within the procurement field.
The estimated salary for this role is AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
