We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Marketing Director to join our team at Vicinity Centres in Melbourne.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work closely with the Regional Brand and Marketing Manager to develop and implement the centre's brand strategy and annual marketing plan, ensuring alignment with the Vicinity Marketing Strategy and Vision Strategy and Action Plan (VSA).

You will lead the charge in developing commercial strategies, including brand awareness, digital, local activations, partnerships, campaigns, and promotion, as well as identifying opportunities to support retailer business strategies through local marketing plans tailored to consumer needs.

  • All elements of the annual performance cycle will be completed by the due date, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and end-of-year conversations.
  • Regular 1:1s, team meetings, and development conversations will be conducted on a monthly basis.
  • Performance issues will be managed effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Quarterly development conversations will be held with all team members.
  • 100% compliance training will be completed on time for the team.
  • All health and safety, risk, and compliance requirements will be delivered across the team.
  • Effective management of budgets as per forecast will be demonstrated, with a focus on managing costs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to building own capability as a people leader will be shown.
  • Collaboration with the Regional Brand and Marketing Manager will be required to develop brand and marketing strategies for the centre, aligned to the Vicinity Marketing Strategy and VSA.
  • Delivery and alignment with the Vicinity Marketing Strategy and asset cluster plan for the centre will be necessary.
  • A thorough understanding of consumer segmentation and key target markets will be required to develop strategies that create value and deliver a return on investment.
  • Plan, manage, and execute strategic campaigns, activations, and projects consistently to timelines and budgets.
  • In conjunction with the Digital and Social Specialist, social and digital strategies, activities, monitoring, and reporting will be developed and implemented to support the cluster and centre marketing plans.
  • Centre operational support may be required from time to time, including duty management shifts, centre walks, hoarding management, and onsite contractor support.
  • A strong understanding of retailer businesses and engagement will be necessary, with regular and meaningful communication and reporting with retail partners.
  • Support will be provided for the localisation of the national ESG strategy, including relationship management and data reporting.
  • Administrative and reporting duties will include preparing reports, attending Joint Venture Meetings and regional meetings, and performance management of regional traffic, sales, and campaign PIRs and relevant risk, security, and compliance training reporting.
  • Financial/budgeting duties will include raising purchase orders, processing invoices, monthly forecasting, and supporting the Regional Brand and Marketing Manager with the annual budgeting and planning process.
