Job Title

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Peer Support Coordinator to join our team. As a Peer Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing personalized assistance to individuals who have survived a suicide attempt or are experiencing a suicidal crisis.

The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate IV in a Community Services related discipline (including Peer Work), as well as personal lived experience of mental health recovery and proactivity in managing wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct and personalized assistance to individuals who have survived a suicide attempt or are experiencing a suicidal crisis.
  • Using personal lived experience of mental health recovery to connect with individuals in a recovery-oriented, person-centred, and strengths-based way.
  • Increasing service participant's social connectedness and strengthening links to support networks.
  • Building distress tolerance and the capacity to alleviate and manage psychosocial distress and suicidal crisis.
  • Provision and documentation of mental health assessments, including completion of mental state examination, support planning, safety planning and mandatory reporting as required.
