Crisis Intervention Specialist

About the Role:

This role offers a dynamic opportunity to support individuals and families navigating complex life challenges. As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will provide high-quality intake services, including crisis intervention, screening, and referral within our counselling framework.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of domestic and family violence, child protection, and family law. You will work collaboratively with diverse families to assess eligibility and suitability for our services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage incoming client referrals, assessing eligibility and suitability
  • Complete client intake, initial needs assessment, risk assessment/s, and safety planning where required
  • Provide information and refer clients to internal and external programs, including counselling, group education, and parenting programs
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioural Science from a recognised institution
  • Well-developed understanding of domestic and family violence, child protection, and family law
  • Demonstrated practice framework for domestic and family violence and its nexus with child safety, family law, and mental health
  • Experience in intake, risk assessment, case management, and referral pathways, crisis intervention, DVO assistance, and safety planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to advocate for clients' needs
