Job Title: Strategic Commercial Manager

We are seeking an experienced professional to provide commercial and financial leadership to our Senior Management team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and financial aspects of our contracts in accordance with our policies, procedures, guiding principles, strategies, and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day commercial & financial leadership and advice to the Contract Senior Management Team (SMT); including strategic commercial & financial leadership on evaluation of proposals and other investments.
  • Ensure the adequacy of financial resources and financial disciplines to underpin the achievement of Contract strategy and objectives.
  • Establish personal credibility and credibility of the Contract commercial function throughout the Contract organization as an effective partner in managing the Contract. Set an example of collaborative leadership and teamwork.

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Provide strategic financial advice, planning, and analysis, and be involved in the End of Month process working with the CS Finance Teams.
  • Ensure the provision of accurate monthly financial accounting and management information to senior management (i.e., Balance Sheet, P&L's, cash flow, CAPEX, etc).
  • Ensure the provision of a monthly report on delivery of business KPIs for both the customer and Serco.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience as a finance and/or commercial manager reporting into Executive or Board level.
  • Experience in business growth success and the bidding/tendering process.
  • Experience in commercial negotiations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or another relevant discipline.
  • Qualified Accountant to internationally recognised standard (Australian CA or CPA or equivalent).
